100 Mile Ruck March 2025
James Fullen – 100 Mile Ruck March Supporting Families Battling Childhood Cancer
Every day, families with children fighting cancer face a battle far more grueling than any endurance event. Why Me & Sherry’s House is a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to providing emotional, financial, and practical support to these families. Founded by parents who have walked this heartbreaking road, they offer real, hands-on help where it’s needed most.
This July, my son, Tommy, and I are doing separate rucking events. Tommy is doing the 1 Day Kid’s Ruck and I’m rucking 100 miles in 4 days ~25 miles per day, carrying everything I need for the duration on my back—to raise $3,000 for this incredible cause. The 100 Mile Ruck March Challenge is a military-inspired endurance event that demands grit, resilience, and teamwork—the same values that make Why Me & Sherry’s House so impactful.
I love rucking, not just for the challenge, but for the camaraderie it builds. Some of my fondest memories from my time in the Army come from long marches with my fellow soldiers—pushing through exhaustion together, sharing laughter despite aching feet, and knowing that no one gets left behind. This ruck is about carrying that same spirit forward—because these families shouldn’t have to walk this road alone.
