Will Champman – 100 Mile Ruck March Athlete
I am very excited to be apart of this great event and to be joining the of team of athletes in attempting to complete this 100 mile ruck march for the Why Me and Sherry’s House. In last years event, I was side by side with each athlete attempting to complete this anguishing challenge as the events videographer and volunteer. Seeing what each athlete went through on a personal level has left me inspired to become part of this amazing event and help contribute to it’s overall purpose, helping the children at Why Me & Sherry’s House. With many personal experiences where cancer has been involved with in my loved ones life’s, this will be my first big step in joining a community that comes together to help fight against this evil and I couldn’t be more happy than to be apart of the Why Me & Sherry’s House 100 Mile Ruck March Event in 2023 for this reason. Please feel free to help contribute to my mission and become apart of my journey throughout these 4 days!
The 100 Mile Ruck March Challenge is a military inspired event, where a small group of Athletes will Ruck (hike) 25 miles a day for 4 days. Camping out each night on the farm of a local brewery and continuing the march at sunrise each morning. Athletes will carry everything they will need for this 4 day event on their backs, navigate the 100 mile course, cook their own meals, set up and break down their own camps each night, tend to their feet and bodies, all in an attempt to earn the coveted 100 Mile Ruck March Finisher Medal.
100% of the proceeds go to Why Me & Sherry’s House a grass roots non-profit organization dedicated to providing love and support services to families with childhood cancer. It’s run in part by parents that lived this experience first-hand, the dedicated staff and volunteers understand what families with a pediatric cancer patient need and are passionate about services provided.
