Debbie Karalus

Debbie’s passion for volunteering dates back to 2005. She was a volunteer with the UMass Hospice program, which led to other fulfilling volunteer opportunities within local hospice and pediatric organizations and healthcare facilities.

She spent the last five years as a Volunteer Coordinator at a hospice and pediatric palliative care program. Her passion for volunteering and previous work experience will enable a comfortable and smooth transition into her new position with Why Me.

Debbie is eager to grow and further develop the volunteer program. Using her experience, she will confidently match volunteers where they fit best. Whether helping at family fun events or fundraisers, assisting with childcare while loved ones attend support groups, or making home-cooked meals for families in need and anywhere else, she will lead volunteers keeping Why Me’s mission of love and support at heart.

Debbie is a lifelong resident of Worcester, where she resides with her husband. She enjoys spending time with her family and five beautiful grandchildren.
